The Harry Potter books and films are a favorite of people all over the world. The obsession with the classic tale has many people getting tattoos, from Harry Potter’s famous scar to the Deathly Hallows sign. Some individuals have taken it so far as to have Dobby the House Elf’s face tattooed right on their arm! Harry Potter has been a part of many people’s lives, often from a young age. As the movies continued to roll out on the big screen, people watched and grew with Harry, Ron, Hermione, and the rest of the cast at the Hogwarts School of Witchcraft and Wizardry.
People can claim to be die-hard Harry Potter fans, but you can’t outdo what some of these Potterheads have done to show their true love for J.K. Rowling’s series. Last year, newlyweds Cassie and Lewis Byrom celebrated their love for the Harry Potter series by throwing a Potter-themed wedding unlike anything you’ve seen before. From having their own wands to rings presented on a copy of the Half Blood Prince, this couple went all out. They even went as far as to have their faces printed on wanted posters from the Ministry of Magic and had each bridesmaid carry their own paper bouquet made from 20-cut up novels! Talk about a strong admiration for all things Potter.
However, nothing can top this Illinois-based mom from showing off her ultimate Potter pride. Kayla Glover decided it was time to pass on her love for all things Harry Potter to her 3-month-old baby, Lorelai Grace. Glover, who is also a professional photographer, had the brilliant idea to create a photo shoot for her daughter that showcased Mom’s love for the books. Glover decided to create her very own ultra-adorable Harry Potter-themed photo shoot. “I’ve been a Harry Potter fan since I was 10 years old,” Glover told The Huffington Post. “It is fair to say I always planned to introduce my children to the series at a young age.”
Using all seven Harry Potter books, a wand, a Gryffindor scarf, a black cauldron, and, of course, Harry Potter’s famous round glasses, Glover came up with what is possibly one of the best baby shoots ever. In one photo, little Lorelai sits in a small cauldron with the Gryffindor scarf wrapped around her tiny body, wand in hand and Potter’s round glasses on her face. Rowling’s books are also displayed right and left of baby Lorelai. In another photo, Glover lays her daughter down, and it is nothing but cuteness coming from Lorelai’s face. With an adorable smirk and Potter’s wand in her tiny hand, Lorelai looks ready to battle You-Know-Who. Glover certainly mastered her daughter’s first professional shoot.
Glover received a lot of attention over her photos. The mom talked to People and spoke about how much she loved having her daughter be a part of something her mother grew up loving. Glover mentioned she hopes Lorelai will also admire the series. “I just love the mixing of worlds, of fantasy and reality,” Glover explained, adding, “It’s sort of like photography in that way. You’re able to incorporate different elements of fact and fiction.”
Glover also added that she used the same round glasses she’s had since she was a kid. One photo shows Glover wearing them and standing next to a huge poster of Harry. She told People, “The best part is those glasses are actually mine from when I was a teenager! I got them at a midnight release party for Order of the Phoenix in 2003 and kept them all these years, so it’s really come full circle… I don’t remember life without Harry Potter. It might sound weird, but it’s been one of my oldest friends!”
A lot of people feel the same way Glover feels. Harry Potter has changed and touched countless lives. We hope Lorelai loves the series just as much as her mother does.
